I wish i could see it, but i guess i'll have to wait untill it hits the internet somewhere. However i think it's a great thing he did a documentary on this subject, because i hear people say it alllll the time. My girl said it the other day: 'Oh my God i have such BAD HAIR! And you (she's talking about me) can't talk because your hairtexture aint even half as hard to take care of as mine is'. Now i dont agree at all .. 1st of all i dont think 'nappy' black hair is bad hair and straight (Caucasian hair) is good hair. I do agree that black hair needs more care than straight hair does.
I myself have curly hair, BUT if i had hair of a more difficult texture i'd still rock it with pride !! Besides that you can do so many diffrent things with black hair like put in braids, cornrows, lock it, straight it, wear it curly or just wear it like a fro. My thing is be happy with what God gave you .. most of the time is what he blessed you with the thing that looks best on you. Now you got all these darkskinned girls out here walking around with the 'Indian/Brazilian wavy hair' & it just doesnt seem natural AT ALL .. everybody who looks at them KNOWS that's NOT their hair.
We need to teach girls that having straight hair doesn't make them a better person and that they are definately not less beautiful with the hair they were born with. With good care and a little creativity you can do so much with it. We as black people really need to teach them to embrace themselves .. every bit of it.
